I tested multiple media servers, including some most famous ones, but when they started to transcode codecs, they always got into trouble. Mezzmo is the only one that can transcode audio into a format supported by my Philips TV. Mezzmo can read various formats and transcode them properly according to the DLNA client. That's brilliant.
Mezzmo is very easy and user friendly with intuitive UI. Though it is configurable, it automatically finishes tasks most of the time. Adding media files for DLNA network is very easy as well. I’ve used it for couple of days, and it works great without any trouble.
In my opinion, Mezzmo is the best Windows-based media server application available on the market for PC!
Simple application installation and configuration. Once installed, Mezzmo scans the hard drive(s) to locate and identify all of the media files. Mezzmo then organizes the media files into a logical, well-sorted media library tree for easy access, streaming and playlist creation.
Most importantly, Mezzmo worked seamlessly with my Onkyo TX-NR809 AVR. Other media players I demoed did not work with this model Onkyo AVR - i.e. Twonky, PlayOn, TVersity. Windows Media Player 11 was also somewhat problematic when using this Onkyo AVR in the setup. The fact that Mezzmo immediately identified and presented the Onkyo AVR on my network was the principle motivating factor that caused me to purchase the Mezzmo license.
As a suggestion, it would be good if the Mezzmo development team could add a "play here" or "play to this device" option in the configuration, a la TwonkyManager. With this "play here" feature added, Mezzmo would rate 5/5 stars.
Thanks Mezzmo Team for producing a GREAT product!
Mezzmo is definitely the best DLNA server on the market. I've got a streaming media player and need a DLNA server to provide movies for it. I've tried all available servers I think, and Mezzmo is the simplest and strongest one.
